What I Want

I want you to vote for people who will protect local government rules and values.

I want you to realize that local government staff should be our experts who are driven by passion and commitment.

The staff are those who, in an ideal world, make the ship move in the direction it is steered by the politicians.

In a world where politicians do not understand or appreciate the complexity of local government procedures, the intended relationship with staff gets shifted and people start to demonize them because staff are seen as steering the ship instead of powering it.

This is bad.

This is why we need to elect people who are committed to local democracy, respect its role and purpose, and and who consider staff as experts.

Because if we don’t we run the risk of what happens in the US with government becoming a tool of those who are in control, instead of serving as a collective benefit for all.

We need to avoid this because local government is our most accessible level of government.

So lets start small and lets keep building!
